Die Stapper

Ons stap, ons stap, ons stap.

Die pad is lank, die wêreld plat,

maar kyk maar mooi waarop jy trap,

want partymaal lê slange in jou pad.

Berge op, en berge af,

dis heuwels, dale en nog meer,

ons het die wêreld plat gedraf,

maar keer steeds terug vir weer probeer.

'n Stapper is 'n vreemde ding

wat pyn en hitte sal uitstaan

net om tyd in die veld deur te bring,

vergeet dat die wêreld om hom bestaan.
