Windpomp waai,

windpomp swaai,

windpomp hou jy aan met draai

deur die lande,

om die hoek,

tot daar waar die reën jou soek.

Windpomp, waai dan nog 'n dag

waai tot waar my liefde wag,

waai maar wild, of waai maar sag,

maar waai my liefde aan die lag.

Waai my liefde, waai dit weg,

want dit maak die lewe sleg,

laat my liefde liewer wag

vir 'n helder sonskyndag.

Kinderlaggies trek omhoog,

omhels my in 'n liefdesboog,

vertel my dat ek pret uitmis

as ek my tyd in huis verkwis.

Kinders weet tog soveel meer

as wat ons hulle ooit kan leer;

hul weet van lag en ook van huil

en dat dit maklik kan omruil.

Kinders vra nie wat’s iets werd,

bekyk nie tande van 'n perd,

hul weet om suiwer te geniet

wat elke oomblik aan hul bied.

Baas en Klaas

Kom dan aarde, maak geraas -

wys ons wie is Baas en Klaas.

Bult jou spiere, toon jou mag,

want dis wat ons van jou verwag.

Die aarde swyg en bly maar stil,

berus hom maar by God se wil,

terwyl die mensdom hom oopbreek

en uit sy rykdom uit verneuk.

Maar God sit op Sy regterstoel,

kyk hoe die mensdom hom omwoel,

verstom Hom aan die harde werk

waarmee hul hul posisies sterk.

Maar eendag kom 'n wind verby

en maak tot niet die delwery

en in daai oomblik se rondwaai

word al’s van waarde afgemaai.

Dan staan die mens met vuis omhoog

beskuldig God in sy betoog,

maar dan is dit die eerste keer

dat hy erken God’s in beheer.

Tot daai dag kom is mens mos baas,

en maak hy God tot dienaars-klaas,

maar skuld, diè wil die mens nie dra,

sal eerder dan vir God aankla.

Dus, vra jou nou, wie’s in beheer,

en as dit God is, gee Hom eer,

maar as jy self die leisels hou,

erken dan jy het self jou gat gegrou.

Hoor my vreugdevolle lied

wat my Heer my gee opnuut,

dis 'n sang wat my bekoor

al is dit alreeds gehoor.

Ek prys die Heer met blydskap

prys Hom vir Sy Vaderskap

en soos Dawid van weleer,

prys ek Hom al het ek seer.

Mag my God my lied dan hoor,

mag my woorde Hom bekoor,

mag my lied Hom hulde bring,

mag my loflied Hom besing.

My hart het my alweer verraai,

want hy bly nog agter in die baai,

al het my lyf al terug getrek

na huis en haard en ander plek.

My hart wil weet of hy kan terug,

na wind en see toe weer kan vlug,

maar hart se snaar klink monotoon,

in 'n lewe wat sy wens verloën.

My hart, ek sou ook so graag wou,

maar my lyf is in die hier en nou,

en anders as my hart se punt,

is ek geografies vasgebind.

Kom laat ons juig!

Laat ons ritme-woorde bring

en so ons dankbaarheid betuig.

U het ons met U vleuels bedek

en beskerming oor ons huis gebied,

toe die vyand om ons laer wou trek,

het U hul staanplek hier verbied.

Dus, kom laat ons sing,

kom laat ons juig!

Laat ons U die ere bring,

laat ons mond daarvan getuig.

Gister was ons dag vol vrees,

het angs ons harte vasgevang,

maar toe vul U ons met U Gees

en nou is ons vir niemand bang.

oor die dinge wat ons God bewerk,

My hart se donker plek lê onontdek,

toegemaak en goed bedek

sodat trane nie daar kan uitlek.

Maar my hart se seer lê en verweer

en verhinder my van weer probeer,

want harte wat so seer kan breek

word eerder diep-diep weggesteek.

Ai Hart, wil jy nie nou maar ophou breek?

Jy is tog lankal in die rug gesteek!

Mens sou mos dink jy sou verstaan

dat jy hom eenvoudig moet laat gaan.

Maar nee! jy klou nog onverbiddelik

al het jou droom duidelik misluk.

Verstaan tog rede dan, my Hart,

en spaar jouself die verdere smart.

Het hy jou lief? Dit glo ek goed,

maar wat ontbreek is mannemoed.

As hy meer hiervan kon vergaar,

dan was jul lankal bymekaar!

Dus, klop nou nuut en sonder pyn

en laat hom saggies weer verdwyn.
