Jealousy

I had so badly wanted to trust you,
but you did not prove to be true.
Though you pretended to care deeply,
it turned out you could not even see me.

I trusted you with my hurt and pain
never realizing I shared my story in vain,
for the only thing you knew was jealousy
which you unwarrantably attached to me.

Do you now know that it was misplaced,
that it was fear- and imagination-based,
that I had no guilt or shame or false pretence?
And does this finally start to make sense?
