The loved one

She wore sunshine like a robe
tightly wrapped around her heart.
She snuggled in the warmth
of wishes and blessings
richly on her bestowed.
Her friends and family drew near
and wrapped her in their hearts
and she was happy, cared for, safe.
Her treasures were not made with
human hands, but held a different worth;
it spoke of value, trust, respect
and she felt deeply loved.

An original poem by Miekie (Marietjie Uys).
