A stroll along the waterside

What a jolly day it is!
Let’s take a gentle stroll
under the lush garden trees
and over the grassy knoll.”

A lovely day it is indeed,
a nice day to be out
among the grasses in full seed
with birds and butterflies about.”

We’ll walk along the waterside
to see if we can find
shells washed up by last night’s tide.
I think you will not mind.”

Indeed, I won’t, You know me well.
I rather like this hobby
of picking things up where they fell
to preserve in my front lobby.”

You like to pick things up, you say!
This is good news to hear!
For I have lost my heart today.
It’s yours to find, my Dear.”

Oh, deary me! What shall I do
about this jolly folly?
For if I find it, there’ll be two
to keep in our front lobby.”
