Hart, wil jy nie nou maar ophou breek?

is tog lankal in die rug gesteek!
Mens
sou mos dink jy sou verstaan
dat
jy hom eenvoudig moet laat gaan.
Maar
nee! jy klou nog onverbiddelik
al
het jou droom duidelik misluk.
Verstaan
tog rede dan, my Hart,
en
spaar jouself die verdere smart.
Het
hy jou lief? Dit glo ek goed,
maar
wat ontbreek is mannemoed.
As
hy meer hiervan kon vergaar,
dan
was jul lankal bymekaar!
Dus,
klop nou nuut en sonder pyn
en
laat hom saggies weer verdwyn.
