Deception in the ranks

Oh, you friend with lying lips
from whom deception glibly slips,
how I wish I had never known
the darkness of the seeds you’ve sown.

You make up stories told for truth,
and do not fight with nail or tooth;
instead, you tear your friends apart,
driving wedges to the heart.

You do not sting with fist or foot
but paint my name in dark black soot.
Yet did you ever stop to think
how bitter are the words you drink?

Our Father sits with broken heart
as you tear relationships apart
and never seem to think or care
about the dried up blood you wear.
